Registration is now open for the European guidelines and quality assurance scheme on primary prevention of gastric cancer and third report on the status of implementation of the Council Recommendations on cancer screening (EU-GAINS) Gastric Cancer Prevention Symposium. The EU-GAINS team encourages researchers, clinicians, and public health interest-holders to join the symposium and contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen gastric cancer prevention worldwide.
The symposium will feature a variety of high-profile speakers who are spearheading efforts to prevent gastric cancer in different regions around the world.
The EU-GAINS project team will hold the event as both a webinar and a session that can be attended in person at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) building on 22 May 2026 from 09:00 to 13:00.
Participants are invited to register in advance and indicate whether they plan to attend online or in person.
The EU-GAINS project comprises activities for two key initiatives: the European Commission Initiative on Gastric Cancer (EC-GaC) and the third European Union cancer screening report. Both components are led by IARC in close partnership with the European Commission Joint Research Centre.
