Annals of Oncology – Alcohol drinking and colorectal cancer risk: an overall and dose–response meta-analysis of published studies

The International Agency for Research on Cancer concluded that alcohol consumption is related to colorectal cancer. This study provides strong evidence for an association between alcohol drinking of >1 drink/day and colorectal cancer risk. The results from this large meta-analysis have important public health implications, given the large number of women and, especially, men consuming alcohol and the high incidence of colorectal cancer worldwide and in developed countries in particular.
