IARC at the Big Data Forum for Life and Health Sciences 2025

Dr Zdenko Herceg, head of the Epigenomics and Mechanisms Branch at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), will deliver a keynote talk at the 10th Big Data Forum for Life and Health Sciences, which will take place on 15–17 October 2025 in Beijing, China. Dr Herceg’s keynote address, “Cancer Epigenomics: Unravelling Molecular Mechanisms to Advance Treatment and Prevention”, will focus on how epigenomic changes induced by environmental and lifestyle factors influence cancer risk and prevention, an area central to IARC’s mission. Dr Herceg will speak on Friday 17 October at 13:30–14:15 China Standard Time.

This high-profile international conference will bring together leading experts in biomedical data science to address the challenges and opportunities of big data in life and health sciences, including cancer research.

The invitation is also significant in the context of IARC’s collaboration with China. China is an IARC Participating State, and a high-level delegation from the National Genomics Data Center (NGDC), part of the China National Center for Bioinformation (CNCB), visited IARC in April 2025. This event offers a timely opportunity to strengthen cooperation in the areas of big data and cancer research.
