7th IARC Cancer and Society Lecture

Professor Emily Banks visited the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) to deliver the 7th IARC Cancer and Society Lecture on Tuesday 3 March 2020. Her lecture, on “Cancer control: public health solutions to our greatest challenges”, explored public health solutions to the greatest current challenges to cancer control globally, focusing on innovation, the generation of reliable evidence, implementation of known effective measures at scale, regulation, and addressing health inequalities. It also highlighted effective approaches and systems for cancer control as well as factors that hinder cancer control efforts and must be overcome.
