The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the specialized cancer agency of the World Health Organization (WHO), has updated its evaluation of the link between obesity and cancer. Volume 16 of the IARC Handbooks of Cancer Prevention takes into account the latest data and evaluates the weight of the evidence that absence of excess body fatness can reduce the risk of cancer.
