Applications still open for training course on registration of childhood cancer

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and partner institutions are still accepting applications for an online course on the registration of cancer in children. The course is open to participants working in Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam. The course is being organized within the collaborative programme “Targeting Childhood Cancer through the Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development (ChildGICR)”, which is directed by IARC and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (located in Memphis, Tennessee, USA). The course will be held during September 2022.

The course will be streamed online from the National Cancer Institute in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

The course will focus on the fundamentals of childhood cancer registration and advance the understanding of specific aspects of the registration of cancer in children. The faculty consists of international experts in cancer registration and paediatric oncologists. This capacity-building activity will support the production of data required to demonstrate progress in tackling the childhood cancer burden worldwide within the context of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer.

Online applications are open until 15 July 2022.
