Today, 11 February 2025, is the 10th International Day of Women and Girls in Science. More than 60% of the scientists on the staff of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) are women, including IARC Director Dr Elisabete Weiderpass and the heads of three IARC flagship publications series: the World Health Organization Classification of Tumours series, the IARC Monographs on the Identification of Carcinogenic Hazards to Humans series, and the IARC Handbooks of Cancer Prevention series.
