Dr Jiri Zavadil, the Head of the Molecular Mechanisms and Biomarkers Group at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), presented research results at the 79th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Cancer Association (JCA 2020). The theme of the meeting, which took place on 1–3 October 2020, was “Confronting the solid truth of cancer and working together”. JCA 2020 was held as a hybrid meeting; with some participants on-site in Hiroshima, Japan, and others taking part online.
