Dr Paolo Vineis of Imperial College London (United Kingdom) and the Italian Institute of Technology (Genoa, Italy) presented a seminar on “Cancer and the Green New Deal policies” via web conference on 28 January 2021, as part of the IARC Distinguished Speaker Series. Dr Vineis discussed the idea of “co-benefits”: the same policies that can mitigate climate change can also help to prevent cancer and other noncommunicable diseases.
