Ms Charu Mehta started her UN career with the WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia, in New Delhi, India, in 1998. Since then, she traversed across all three levels of the Organization, working in two Country Offices and in WHO headquarters, in different capacities in the field of administration and finance, before she moved to IARC in 2022 as the Administration and Finance Officer. She holds a master’s degree in business administration and has qualifications in the field of accountancy and financial management.

In her current role as Director of Administration and Finance at IARC, Ms Mehta is the principal advisor to the IARC Director on all administrative, financial, budgetary, and legal matters, and on organizational development and the efficient use of IARC’s human and financial resources. She is responsible for the Services to Science and Research Branch (SSR), in providing efficient, effective, and responsive administrative services to the various programmes and activities of IARC, for the attainment of the overall objectives of the Agency.
