IARC and the European Commission’s JRC launch call for experts for quality assurance scheme for cervical cancer care

Researchers from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission (EC) have launched a call for experts to assist in the development of the quality assurance (QA) scheme for cervical cancer care services as part of the EC Initiative on Cervical Cancer (EC-CvC) and Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.

IARC and the JRC are interested in expressions of interest from clinical, scientific, and technical experts in the following areas: onco-gynaecology, surgery, and treatment of cervical precancer; radiation oncology; medical oncology; pathology; colposcopy; rehabilitation; sexual health; follow-up and survivorship; palliative care; complementary and integrative oncology; psychological aspects of diagnosis (psycho-oncology); and social aspects of diagnosis (social services, returning to work).

Patients and/or caregivers are also invited to apply. Applications must be submitted by 15 September 2025.

The estimated workload as a working group member or a subgroup expert is 2 or 3 meetings per month, each lasting from 1 hour to a maximum of 4 hours. Also, monthly preparatory and follow-up activities will require on average half a day to 1 day of time distributed across the month.
