A new review, co-led by Dr Zisis Kozlakidis, head of the Laboratory Services and Biobank Group at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and Professor Alex van Belkum, Director of Research and Development of Open Innovation and Partnerships at bioMérieux, provides a comprehensive analysis of the global consolidation of clinical microbiology laboratories and the introduction of transformative technologies, and discusses how these changes could influence clinical microbiology practice.
The review, published in the journal Clinical Microbiology Reviews on 18 March 2020, incorporates perspectives from both public health and private sector laboratories on clinical infrastructure and practice.
