The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has selected the abstracts that will be presented during the IARC 60th anniversary (IARC@60) conference on Cancer Research into Action. They were selected from the almost 1300 abstracts that were submitted by researchers in more than 90 countries, representing different continents, income levels, cancer burdens, and challenges.
In addition to these abstracts by scientists from around the world, the IARC@60 conference will include plenary sessions featuring the most influential voices in cancer prevention research globally. The presentations will take place during the three-day conference on 19–21 May 2026. Each day of the conference is dedicated to one of the three themes: discovery and innovation for cancer prevention, translating research into public health action, and science–policy interface for global change.
The plenary sessions will be led by international experts from IARC and other institutions. The scientific programme will also include parallel sessions, poster sessions, rapid-fire sessions, and partner sessions directed by the conference partners, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, eClinicalMedicine, The Lancet Public Health, The Lancet Oncology, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), and World Cancer Research Fund International. The full programme will be available in April.
