The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will be well represented at the World Cancer Congress, which takes place on 17–19 September 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. More than a dozen IARC scientists are presenting their research on a range of topics in the field of cancer prevention.
In addition to a scientific session sponsored by IARC entitled “Cancer prevention that works: reducing cancer burden faster through multisectoral collaborations” at 15:10 (CEST) on 18 September, IARC researchers will lead and participate in sessions on issues such as building resilient cancer systems, early diagnosis, cancer control in low- and middle-income countries, multi-cancer blood tests, and the cost of cancer.
The World Cancer Congress is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and aims to strengthen participants’ actions and impact on cancer at national, regional, and international levels. The programme includes sessions showcasing the latest successful interventions related to cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care.
