In a new article, scientists from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) review crucial aspects to consider in the development and improvement of childhood cancer registration. Based on the experience acquired at IARC in global cancer surveillance, they present their vision on how the Global Initiative for Cancer Registry Development (GICR) can accelerate the measurement of outcomes for children with cancer. This is an important endeavour in the framework of the recently launched Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. The article was published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
