Making sense of carcinogens: a new method for navigating mechanistic data

Today at the IARC 50th anniversary conference, Dr Martyn Smith is presenting the basis for a ground-breaking approach to identifying and organizing results from pertinent mechanistic studies in evaluations of carcinogenicity. This approach is based on the work of an international Working Group of experts convened by IARC, which identified 10 key characteristics that are commonly exhibited by established human carcinogens. Dr Smith is the lead author of the article, published in Environmental Health Perspectives.
