Launch of the World Cancer Report Updates self-paced e-learning module on “Introduction to Research on Pollution and Cancer”

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is pleased to announce the launch of the World Cancer Report Updates e-learning module on “Introduction to Research on Pollution and Cancer”.

What is the status of research on pollution and cancer? What proportion of cancers are due to environmental pollutants, according to the scientific evidence currently available? What are the gaps and opportunities for future research? To find out, dive into this freely accessible new e-learning module!

This 1-hour interactive module is designed for health and environment professionals, entry-level researchers or researchers from other research areas, technical advisers, and policy-makers. It consists of two learning sequences and a quiz. The module provides an overview of what research on pollution and cancer encompasses, the major pending research questions, and future perspectives.

This module on “Introduction to Research on Pollution and Cancer” is the first in a series of interactive modules on this topic that will be released in 2023 and 2024. Join the IARC learning community to be notified when the second module, on “Ambient and Household Air Pollution and Cancer”, is launched.

The World Cancer Report Updates learning platform project was implemented with the support of and in collaboration with the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO).
