IARC participates in the European Cancer Meeting of the French National Cancer Institute

Representatives of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), including IARC Director Dr Elisabete Weiderpass, are participating in the European Cancer Meeting of the French National Cancer Institute (Les Rencontres européennes de l’Institut national du cancer), organized by the Institut national du cancer (INCa). The event is taking place on 3–4 February 2022 at the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council (Conseil économique, social et environnemental) at Place d’Iéna in Paris, France. The meeting is being held in the context of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (1 January 2022–30 June 2022).

To mark World Cancer Day (4 February), the meeting seeks to increase cooperation in cancer research. The event is being attended by many key European stakeholders and experts on cancer research. The speakers include INCa President Dr Norbert Ifrah, INCa Director General Dr Thierry Breton, and Professor Véronique Trillet-Lenoir, Member of the European Parliament and Rapporteur of the European Parliament’s Special Committee on Beating Cancer.
