Two scientists working at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) are among the nine early career scientists chosen by the Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP) of the United States National Cancer Institute (NCI) to participate in the DCP Early Career Scientist Spotlight Research Seminar Series.
Dr Xiaoshuang Feng of the Risk Assessment and Early Detection Team in the Genomic Epidemiology Branch will present her research on appropriate metrics to evaluate multi-cancer screening trials, the performance of lung cancer risk prediction models, and protein biomarkers for early detection of lung cancer.
Dr Mary Luz Rol of the Early Detection, Prevention, and Infections Branch will present her work on the EASTER project, which aims to develop and validate the use of spectroscopy and artificial intelligence tools for cervical cancer screening and diagnosis, and the Cancer Screening in Five Continents (CanScreen5) project, which enables countries to collect and use cancer screening data.
The NCI DCP Early Career Scientist Spotlight Research Seminar Series highlights investigators who are advancing research within prevention, early detection, and symptom science. The selected scientists will be featured in a series of public seminars intended to highlight their work in these important research areas.
