Dr Carolina Espina, a scientist from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), will chair a seminar on 17 May about the Latin America and the Caribbean Code Against Cancer as part of the Latin American Global Cancer Week, which takes place from 13 to 17 May 2024. The seminar will focus on the scientific evidence on cancer prevention supporting the recommendations of the first edition of the Latin America and the Caribbean Code Against Cancer.
The panellists will be Dr Juan Ángel Rivera Dommarco, former Director General of the National Institute of Public Health of Mexico; Dr Catterina Ferreccio, Deputy Director of the Advanced Center for Chronic Diseases, Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; Dr Rolando Herrero, Scientific Director of the Costa Rican Agency for Biomedical Research; and Dr Maribel Almonte, Scientist at IARC and the World Health Organization Department of Noncommunicable Diseases.
The online seminar will be held in Spanish. It will take place on Friday 17 May at 11:00 am Buenos Aires, Argentina, time (4:00 pm Lyon, France, time) and will last one and a half hours. Simultaneous translations into other languages will unfortunately not be available. Participants should register to attend via the link below.
