How IARC prevents cancer in your country: Canada

As part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), partners from IARC Participating States are offering insights, in a new series of videos, into how the Agency’s research and programmes help them in their work.

The first set of videos, in which health-care professionals in Canada explain how IARC’s findings support and affect public health decisions in their country, is now available. The videos feature Dr Anita Bane (Pathologist, University Health Network), Dr Parveen Bhatti (Distinguished Scientist, British Columbia Cancer Research Institute), Dr Paul Demers (Scientific Director, Occupational Cancer Research Centre at Ontario Health), Dr Christine Friedenreich (Adjunct Professor, University of Calgary), and Dr Fei-Fei Liu (Scientific Director, Institute of Cancer Research, Canadian Institutes of Health Research), who provides an introduction to the series as well as a video about IARC’s impact on her area of expertise.

These videos complement another series of videos that showcase 60 professions at IARC. Those videos, of IARC staff and internal collaborators, are available on the IARC@60 Instagram account.

Be sure to watch both video series!
