Effect of self-collection of HPV DNA offered by community health workers at home visits on uptake of screening for cervical cancer (the EMA study): a population-based cluster-randomised trial

An article published in the February issue of The Lancet Global Health reports the results of the EMA study, conducted in Argentina using self-sampled human papillomavirus (HPV) testing. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) participated in the study, which demonstrated a 4-fold increase in participation when community health workers invited women to self-collect their HPV tests compared with attending a clinic.
