Resolution on the Prevention and control of non-communicable diseases
On the 13th May 2010 the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution on the prevention and control of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) (see link below) which seeks to halt the increasing trends in premature deaths from NCDs worldwide, with a particular focus on developing countries. This is of great relevance to the cancer prevention mandate of the Agency and we will seek to participate fully in the actions subsequent to this UN resolution.
