To mark International Women’s Day, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) will celebrate women’s contributions to science and support the role of women in science by hosting the IARC International Women’s Day Symposium 2019: A Step Forward on 8 March starting at 13:20 Lyon time.
The symposium will feature an international line-up of leaders in science, including Dr Linda Birnbaum, Director of the United States National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, and Dr Ophira Ginsburg, Director of the High-Risk Cancer Program at New York University. The speakers will address the challenges of leadership, work–life balance, institutional barriers, and gender bias.
After the individual presentations, IARC Director Dr Elisabete Weiderpass will moderate a panel discussion.
The symposium will also be recorded and made available on the Videos and Podcasts section of the IARC website.
